A medication abortion involves taking two medications, mifepristone and misoprostol, to safely end a pregnancy at home. Many individuals prefer this option because it provides privacy and flexibility. First Trimester Abortion - Surgical Abortion
For pregnancies up to 14 weeks, we offer abortion procedures performed in our comfortable, welcoming facility. A suction aspiration procedure, also called D&C (dilation and curettage), is conducted by highly trained medical doctors. This safe and quick in-office procedure is ideal for those preferring a same-day option with immediate results.
Manual Vacuum Aspiration (MVA)
Manual vacuum aspiration (MVA) is a variation of the suction aspiration procedure. Instead of using an electric pump, MVA uses a handheld syringe that gently removes the pregnancy from the uterus. This technique is often preferred for early pregnancies (up to 9 weeks), as it can be more precise and cause less discomfort. At your appointment, our physician will review your medical history and length of pregnancy to determine if this abortion method is right for you.
Early Standard Vacuum Aspiration (ESVA)

Surgical Abortion: This procedure, also known as an aspiration abortion or vacuum aspiration, involves using gentle suction to remove the pregnancy tissue from the uterus. Our entire team is trained and experienced and will provide support and guidance throughout the entire process.
How Does a Second Trimester Abortion Work?
Second-trimester abortions are typically performed using a method known as dilation and evacuation (D&E). This procedure involves gently dilating the cervix and removing the pregnancy in a safe and controlled manner. Our team is dedicated to thorough preparation, ensuring your safety and comfort throughout the process.
1-Day Second Trimester Abortion (15–16 Weeks D&E)
For pregnancies between 15 and 16 weeks, we offer the option of a same-day procedure. This single-visit appointment is ideal for those who want to minimize travel and time commitment while receiving excellent care.
2-Day Second Trimester Abortion (17–24 Weeks D&E)
For pregnancies beyond 16 weeks, a two-day procedure may be necessary. This gives our medical team the opportunity to safely prepare your body for the procedure over the course of two appointments. It’s important to note that this approach ensures the highest level of safety and thorough care. On the first day, we take your medical history, discuss your procedure and after-care, and begin the preparation for the overnight dilation of your cervix. When you return the next day, your abortion procedure will be completed.
Please remember: Once the cervical preparation has begun on day one, your abortion is in progress.

- You will spend time in our quiet recovery area
- When you are discharged, you will be given specific and complete recovery instructions explaining signs and symptoms of possible complications, along with a 24-hour emergency phone number and guidance on emotional healing
- We also give you a prescription for your post-procedure medications, which can be filled on-site at a low cost
