Women’s Health Financial HelpFinancial Assistance & Insurance Coverage
Northland Family Planning has financial assistance available for women living on a low income. We can complete eligibility for funding at the same time you call to make your appointment. Another funding option is Reclaim, our advocacy non-profit. See if you qualify for Reclaim funding at this link. We do not offer a payment plan option but we will personally help you brainstorm ways to raise money, or work overtime ourselves to call funding agencies on your behalf.
Northland Centers provide excellent gynecology care and we are proud that we are able to keep our fees LOWER than any other family planning center. We also offer reduced fees for minors with high school ID. Most insurance plans should now cover well-woman visits with no copay. However, if you currently do not have insurance, please call us for our reduced fees and click HERE to access our money-saving coupons.
Our office is a provider of the HPV vaccine, Gardasil. There is financial assistance available if you don’t have insurance or it doesn’t cover this vaccine. Northland has applications for this assistance in our office. For more information, see this link.
NFP is credentialed by most major insurance and managed care companies.
We are proud of our high standing within the medical community and have passed every inspection and credentialing process with flying colors.
Abortion insurance coverage in the state of Michigan has changed dramatically as of March 14, 2014. On this date, the Michigan Insurance Opt Out Act became law. It is a complicated law that prohibits insurance plans from offering insurance for abortion without a rider UNLESS IT IS A SELF-FUNDED GROUP health plan. It also prohibits a doctor or clinic from billing certain insurance companies for elective abortion & related services NO matter the reason or health consequences for the woman. There is no exception for rape or incest. If you do not have this rider or benefit, Northland Family Planning cannot bill your insurance for any services related to elective abortion.
When you call to make your appointment we will need you to have your insurance card. If you have a Benefits Book, have that with you as well. We will ask:
- If your insurance is through a group plan or if it is an individual policy
- The name of your employer
- Your employer’s headquarter address
- If your employer is headquartered in Michigan or just has locations in Michigan
- If your insurance is through a self-funded plan (this should be in your benefits book)
Northland Family Planning will attempt to verify coverage for elective abortion. If we are unable to confirm coverage to our satisfaction, we will not be able to bill the insurance company for any services related to an abortion.
Gynecology/Well-woman/Annual Exam Visits
Northland Family Planning is in network with most insurance companies.
Most insurance companies cover well-woman visits with no copay or deductible due to the Affordable Care Act requirements!
Your insurance coverage and benefits must be verified by Northland Family Planning before your appointment. When you call to schedule an appointment, please have your insurance information handy (membership card and number). We will gladly check your coverage for you.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE BRING YOUR INSURANCE CARD AND IDENTIFICATION TO ALL APPOINTMENTS.
