WE BELIEVE the world is a better place when people have the freedom to make their own decisions regarding their bodies, reproductive options and sexuality. For Northland, that mission means not only providing the highest quality abortion care in Michigan, but also advocating for Michigan citizens and their rights.
Advocacy will always be a cornerstone of the work at Northland. In order for NFP to continue this work, we are excited and proud to introduce Reclaim, a new non-profit organization launched by NFP founder Renee Chelian. The mission of Reclaim is to fuel individuals and communities to Reclaim their dignity around, confidence in, and support of abortion and reproductive rights. Reclaim engages in advocacy and public education to provide accurate and thoughtful information on reproductive health in culture and society.
Pregnant people in Michigan have a strong voice and advocate in Northland Family Planning Centers, and now Reclaim.
RECLAIM founder Renee Chelian and RECLAIM Director Lara Chelian, JD, are working with communities throughout Michigan to provide quality abortion care that focuses on respect and compassion for all. Northland Family Planning is excited to partner with Reclaim and raise awareness about abortion access.
As a NAF certified clinic, Northland Family Planning has access to financial assistance for those who qualify to help cover the cost of abortion. However, the cost of an abortion includes much more than just the clinic fee. Pregnant people need assistance with transportation costs, including gas or taxi/uber, babysitting, lodging, and food. That is where Reclaim’s Michigan Women In Need Fund (MI WIN Fund) comes in. The MI WIN Fund was created to not only help with the clinic cost, but also to connect patients to funds and/or volunteers to assist with all the other not-so-hidden costs, such as when a translator needs.
The need for funds and volunteers is great.
