Emergency Contraception (also known as EC, Plan B, or the Morning After Pill), is an FDA-approved method that allows you a second chance at preventing pregnancy when you have had unprotected sex. It is a backup method of preventing pregnancy and is not meant to be used as a regular method of contraception or birth control.
This treatment is intended only for emergencies and is not as effective as other forms of birth control. Plan B does not protect against any STIs (including HIV/AIDS). It is also NOT effective in terminating an existing pregnancy.
