Chlamydia is one of a number of common sexually transmitted infections, and up to 75% of infected women don’t know they have it. Symptoms of Chlamydia in women can include:

  • Vaginal discharge
  • Pain and/or spotting with intercourse
  • Pain with urination
  • Belly and back aches

If left untreated, Chlamydia can cause serious, permanent damage to a woman’s reproductive system. Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, fertility problems, and lymphogranuloma venereum can result from untreated Chlamydia.

A quick, painless test can be performed at your doctor’s office to find out if you have Chlamydia.

If you do have Chlamydia, it can be treated with a prescription for oral antibiotics. The treatment should be taken as soon as you have your prescription. You should complete your treatment even if you start to feel better.
